Phoenix release KC Timmons

Manchester Phoenix have confirmed the release of KC ‘the Chief’ Timmons from their roster following Sunday nights win over the Hull Stingrays.

Head Coach Tony Hand advised, “we’ve been looking at ways of increasing our offensive numbers and KC was signed as a defensive forward. In the summer, we actually agreed for him to come and play as a defenseman before the signing of Jeff MacMillan allowed us to move him back up front.”

A Phoenix spokesperson added, “we talked with KC last week about how the need to add some more offense and improve our goalscoring and he was very understanding. He’s a great character and it’s obviously a difficult decision, but one that we needed to make. We’d like to thank KC for his efforts and we can confirm that other clubs have been making enquiries into signing him.”

KC Timmons commented, “It’s obviously a little disappointing to be leaving Manchester, I really love it here. The club and the supporters have been great to me and I really like the city. I’m hoping to sign with another team this week and look forward to playing in Manchester again, although it’ll probably be in a different uniform.”

Phoenix GM Andy Costigan remarked, “Tony has been looking to bring in a more prolific goalscorer and we expect to be in a position to announce a new player this week. All being well, we’ll have the player arrive in Manchester in time for next weekends home double header against Cardiff and Basingstoke.
