Phoenix Under-18 forward Phil Hamer suited up for the senior team for the first time last Sunday, and whilst he didn’t actually get a shift, he enjoyed the experience.
“Just being there was a thrill,” he told the Phoenix E-zine. “Training with the professionals is so much faster, to actually be there amongst them really brings it home to you how fast and strong these players are. The game seemed to go so fast, and of course it was great for the guys to get the result. Just being there make me more determined to continue to work hard and hopefully, I’ll get a chance soon.”
Phil Hamer was inaction for the Phoenix Under-18 squad on Saturday night as they maintained their incredible 100% winning start to the season with a 12-5 victory over the Solihull Knights. Phil bagged another brace of goals and one assist as the U-18’s completed a full house of wins, one over every club in their league.
