Fixtures announcement put on ice

The bmibaby Elite Ice Hockey League have reluctantly decided to delay the announcement of the 2007/08 fixtures by another week until Tuesday July 24th.

EIHL Director of Hockey Andy French noted, "Following the original fixtures meeting, every club was left with one or two dates still to confirm. By and large, those obstacles have been overcome thanks to a series of revisions in which every team played an active part. Regrettably whilst these issues were resolved, a couple of clubs have since lost dates from their original schedule and this has meant a further review of specific clubs now needs to take place."

French continued, "Everyone is aware that ice hockey supporters across the length and breadth of the country were looking forward to learning all the key dates for their respective clubs, and we apologise for the need to delay further the full release of the fixture scheduling. Our Chairman Eamon Convery, the clubs concerned, the venue management teams and myself are all working together to find the best possible solutions; and we are fully committed to finding the answers in time to meet next Tuesday being the official release day."
