Since our inception, Manchester Phoenix has always understood the value of player development. Our inclusion of locally-based British players in the Phoenix squad last season was a move designed to help promote the growth of ice hockey in the Manchester region, and this growth is something we are keen to keep working towards. The recent inline hockey clinic and the programme of school visits are part of the early stages of our process in enhancing the development of ice hockey at a junior level, and with the ongoing progression of the developments towards a new rink for the Manchester Phoenix, we are now ready to start preparations for the next step.
The forthcoming 2005-2006 ice hockey season will see the launch of the Manchester Phoenix Junior Development system, an exciting initiative by Phoenix in partnership with the British Inline Puck Hockey Association. Phoenix and BIPHA will be hosting on-ice player trials this coming summer, looking for players to join our teams in the Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 19 age categories.
The full details of the trials are yet to be finalised and will be published as soon as they are available. In the meantime we are building a database of players who wish to be considered for the trials. If you are an ice hockey or inline hockey player who falls into any of the above age categories, and you are interested in taking part in trials for the Manchester Phoenix Junior Development System, please fill in and submit the online form via the link below. Your interest will be registered and suitable applicants will be invited to take part in the trials once the details are finalised.
