Phoenix postpone home fixtures

Manchester Phoenix have taken the regrettable decision to postpone the bmibaby Elite League fixture against the Basingstoke Bison scheduled for Sunday 28th. A new date for the game is yet to be advised.

Phoenix have also talked with the Belfast Giants and agreed to re-schedule the fixture slated for Sunday February 4th. The Giants game will now take place on Thursday March 1st.

Phoenix General Manager Andy Costigan commented, “This is our most regrettable decision to date, but we have no option. The new facility is not ready and will not be available for us until after the original date of the Belfast game. The recent bad weather and other logistical issues have once again over-ridden the aim of opening the Altrincham Ice Dome on the 28th.”

Phoenix are committed to playing their home games in Altrincham and there are no plans to move any more games to alternative venues.
