The Manchester Phoenix unveiled their new shirt designs for the 2016-17 season as hundreds of Phoenix fans packed into the Shooters bar at the Printworks on Friday night.
The evening began with a sneak preview of Phoenix’s entrance sequence which was very well received by the Faithful. Phoenix also confirmed that all season ticket holders will receive free entry for the screening of home games at Shooters, whilst non-season ticket holders will be able to pay £7.99 a game.
Season ticket holders will also be entitled to 25% off food and certain drinks at Shooters during the season, as Phoenix’s new home received a great reception.
Phoenix’s cup home and away shirts are to be unveiled in the coming weeks and each of Phoenix’s four shirts feature a different sponsor for the 2016-17 season.
After the players were introduced to rapturous applause from the fans, Phoenix’s final import signing was confirmed with the announcement of Czech forward Marek Indra.
There then followed a very entertaining pub quiz, with a group of fans going up against Tony and Neil, as well as Steve Fone and Luke Boothroyd, on all things Phoenix. Maybe unsurprisingly, the fans team came out on top, although the most entertaining round came when Tony and James Neil attempted to settle their argument over who is the better golfer!
Phoenix MD Neil Morris also looked after a few housekeeping points for the season. Phoenix will again be running away coach travel for southern games, with the pick-up point to be confirmed. Replica shirts will be available in a couple of weeks and orders can be made at home games. Finally, this season’s programme will only be available in electronic format, and further details can be found on the Phoenix website.
