With the post-season now upon us, Phoenix owner Neil Morris is pleased to reveal that the club’s planned new rink is progressing as planned whilst discussions over new players continues.
Neil commented: “Tony’s recruitment activity is well under way, however the signings of both new and existing players will be announced in the coming weeks once the contract for the new rink has been finalised. Contracts for what Tony believes will be the nucleus of his squad for next season have already left the office.”
“We’re naturally disappointed to lose players that have been integral to the squad however other teams in our league always seem to be able to offer substantially higher amounts of money which we are unable to match. This happens to us year in and year out – this off season will be no different. We have a set budget for next season which if we are very honest is very similar to this season. Tony is convinced he can build a new squad that can contend for silverware around that budget.”
“Recruitment over the summer will be a challenge as there are several clubs with significantly bigger budgets who will be competing for players, however Tony has several targets in mind and a number of new players have already expressed an interest in signing in Manchester.”
