Manchester Phoenix were again missing Stanislav Gron through injury as they made the trip to Telford on Sunday evening with just 12 out skaters.
After a series of early penalties, Telford broke the deadlock on a 5 on 3 Powerplay with Jason Silverthorn scoring at the back post on 14:08. Telford soon added to their lead on 16:21 when Silverthorn netted again, before the Canadian completed his hat trick at 18:31 as the first period ended 3-0.
The one-way traffic continued in the second period as Peter Szabo scored on the Powerplay at 22:58 before Silverthorn scored shorthanded at 25:17, and Nathan Salem added another on 26:58 to make it 6-0. Phoenix lost another player to injury, James Neil, before the end of the period.
The third period saw former Phoenix player Joe Miller net at 41:31 before Blahoslav Novak quickly added an eighth at 41:55. Phoenix gave some ice time to back-up netminder Phil Spanswick but the scoring continued through Dan Rose at 54:35 as the game ended 9-0.
Phoenix host the Basingstoke Bison next Sunday night in Deeside with a 6:30pm face-off.
