Manchester Phoenix head coach Rick Brebant announced on Monday evening, “that the club was moving on. The loss in Coventry is behind us, we’ll learn from it. We cannot get that game back – so we move forward.”
Brebant confirmed that his Phoenix players had all attended a gymnasium session on Monday instead of enjoying a day off and that he had held a number of one-on-one meetings with the players as well.
“We needed to address some things both collectively and individually,” he said. “A number of issues were discussed and fair and frank talks were held. I cannot say that we agreed upon everything but, everyone had their say and I appreciate some of the points that were raised. We have to move on now and the players know exactly what is expected of them and they appreciate that my comments last night were not simply a knee-jerk reaction to one heavy loss. We travel to Belfast on Thursday and I expect to see a much better effort all round.”
