The Manchester Phoenix are holding the Phoenix Big Charity weekend on the 15th and 16th of November raising money for three charities: the Hearts and Minds Challenge, The Manchester Phoenix Community Sports Foundation and BBC Children in Need. As in previous years we will be holding, a Children in Need event evening to raise money for the fantastic cause, this year it will be held at the game against the Solway Sharks on Saturday the 15th November. The players will be wearing specially designed Children in Need shirts during the game at the Altrincham Ice Dome. The evening will also host a very special visitor to the Dome who alongside our own mascot Menace will help to get the night off to a fantastic start. We will be joined by a fun loving bear that is very well known for his spotted bandanna over his eye, who you may know as Pudsey the bear.
We would like to invite all Phoenix fans to join in with this year’s Children in Need’s theme of Superheroes. We want as many of you, the Phoenix Faithful, to come to the game dressed as superheroes as possible. We will have camera’s at the event to capture you in your Phoenix Heroes costume’s which will be posted on the Phoenix website as well as submitted to Children in Need.
The club will also be auctioning off the Children in Need Shirts which the phoenix stars will play in (washed of course) on the 20th of November. For more information regarding the shirt auction please watch out for more information on the Phoenix Website and in the Match night programme.
We can’t wait to see all of our heroes dressed up on the 15th of November. So get your creative heads on. Let’s make it a special night to remember and help to celebrate the work which Children in Need has done over the last 34 years.
