The imports are arriving, the Brit pack are heading back to their flats, the office is ready – it is hockey time.
Next week’s jamboree starts on Thursday 6th with the 1st leg of this season’s WAR OF THE ROSES. The game is at Ice Sheffield and faces off at 1945hrs. Phoenix are usually well represented over the hills so dust off your Phoenix top and get over and support the lads.
On Friday 7th, Phoenix are holding the Meet the Players event at the Mercure Hotel on Portland Street starting at 1930hrs. Entrance is free but a £1 donation to the Manchester Phoenix Foundation would be most appreciated. Come along and see the lads (hopefully congratulating them on another WOR victory from the previous night) in civvies and take the opportunity for a photo shot with your favourite player.
Then the day we have longed for since April.
J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix take on the Sheffield Steeldogs in the 2nd leg of the War of the Roses 2012 on Sunday 9th September with the usual face off of 1730hrs.
Time to head back to the Dome to cheer our favourites to victory. Both teams have made changes. Steeldogs have lost Ben Bowns and Janis Ozolins to the Elite League. Has Andre managed to replace two very important players? Ex Phoenix stalwarts Greg Wood and Pavel Gomeniuk are still there and desperate to get their hands on OUR trophy. They got closer last season but the Rose Bowl still sits proudly in the trophy cabinet at the Dome.
Coach Tony Hand MBE has replaced all 4 imports this season and added one or two new British players. The team looks exciting and Tony is confident we will be challenging at the top of the league and in with a good chance of regaining the title.
Come along and raise the roof on Sunday.
