J Davidson sponsored Manchester Phoenix will take on the Telford Tigers in an English Premier League and Cup game on Saturday with the usual 1900hrs face off.
Phoenix will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat to local rivals Sheffield Steeldogs on Thursday evening.
Telford, like the Steeldogs are a much improved side from last season and have had some outstanding results against top half teams, including a penalty shot win over Phoenix last time they met.
The Tigers, run by the Tigers Trust, are by their own admission a lower end budget team but they do have some very promising youngsters in their roster.
Joe Henry is getting among the goals for them and they also have exciting young prospect Ross Venus on loan to them from Coventry Blaze of the Elite League. Another blooming prospect in their ranks is Declan Ryan, a name we are all familiar with.
Phoenix coach Tony Hand was disappointed with the performance on Thursday night but re-iterated that there will not be any easy games this season in the league.
Phoenix will be wearing their specially commissioned Children in Need shirts at this game which will then be auctioned on our website from Monday 14 th .
Watch out for details early next week of a very special “ Shirt off the Player’s Back” draw which will be available at next week’s home game. It’s one not to be missed.
