Manchester Phoenix player coach Tony Hand reflected late on Sunday night just what his sides qualification for the English Premier League Playoff Finals means.
Hand commented, "Getting through to Finals weekend in Coventry means so much to everyone connected with the club, the significance cannot be played down. The absolute rapture on the face of the supporters spoke volumes to me this evening, you could tell just how much it meant. The players this weekend have been magnificent, we went into the games against Peterborough with a shorter bench, only three non British players, lost Andre Mattsson to what we thought was a harsh decision, but through it all the will to win came out on top."
"I know that our fans will be the biggest single team support in Coventry next weekend and if trophies were handed out for support, we'd be winners for sure. The players and I include myself will need to raise our effort levels even higher as we're all desperate to give the fans what they want and deserve. They've stuck by the team in the four years I've been here, we've been to cup finals and been pipped at the post, fingers crossed this time will be ours."
"The organisation from top to bottom has worked its socks off again this season and I have to place on record my thanks to Neil Morris, our owner, who has continued to support the club. Next weekend will not be easy, but we'll give it our best shot. The players deserve it, the fans deserve it and the management deserve it."
