Phoenix finds the magic key

Wednesday, 9th September 2009

As the Manchester Phoenix ice-hockey players begin reporting for the clubs’ first season in the English Premier League, the off-ice staff has secured another important marketing partnership.

The UK’s largest regional radio station Key 103FM and Magic1152AM have joined the Phoenix line-up in time for the Sunday 20 September Regular Season Opening Game.

Commenting upon the deal, the stations’ Programme Director, Gary Stein said: “Manchester Phoenix ideally complements our current sporting line-up including Sale Rugby Union and international football giants Manchester City and Manchester United.

“Primarily via Magic 1152AM but with a significant Key 103FM input, our partnership provides promotional support for what is universally regarded as one of the most exciting and fastest team sports in the world right here in our own backyard.

“It’ll also give our listeners a chance to win some great prizes, raise funds for Cash for Kids, and provide more than a little fun for everyone.”

Neil Morris/Phoenix Owner added: “Adding Key 103FM and Magic 1152AM to our line-up is a huge step in helping to put the Phoenix back in the public spotlight.

“Both stations have been an integral part of Manchester’s entertainment and sport scene since 41-year old Player/Coach Tony Hand was a wee nipper, and their audience, geographical reach and market penetration will undoubtedly help boost attendances.

“Special promotions will also help raise funds for Cash for Kids – a very worthwhile and local charity.”
