The Herd are coming. No doubt about it. They are getting serious.
On 4th February 2009, the Unison-powered Manchester Phoenix opened a can on the Basingstoke Bison. Despite the tough-talk from Hampshire, our own Hitman took Cornish down. You knew he would.
And what about the hockey? Well, winning five goals to two is a good start. BUT, IT'S NOT OVER YET.
Your team needs you this weekend, more than ever. This is the FIRST Manchester Challenge Cup semi-final in eight years. There is no doubt that the Bison are going to want to win this. It is their first EVER Challenge Cup semi-final.
So, picture this: an empty Ice Dome. A team of disheartened Phoenix players. A team of southern softies taking candy from a baby. Corey LeClair lording it around OUR RINK?!
Are YOU going to let this happen? THIS IS A CALL TO ARMS!
Here's your checklist for this weekend's cup spectacular:
“A little less conversation, a little more action please!”
STOP PRESS:- Seriously, have you Herd this?!? OK, so Brett took Cornish down in the last leg of this semi-final. No surprise there then - unless you think that Cornish is anything other than full of hot air!
But now, ALEX DUNN is in the firing-line!? Yep, you read that right. There are rumblings from sources down south that Trevor Read wants a re-match against the Phoenix #7. Read must know that he'll have to come through Kyle Bruce first but you KNOW Alex Dunn will not shy away from that sort of challenge.
So, come on Phoenix fans. With the Knock-Out Cup against Hull Stingrays on Saturday and the Challenge Cup clash against the Bison on Sunday, make this weekend the biggest crowd of the season and get people in those doors. You know what what happens if you take a win against the Bison for granted.
Book now online or get there good and early.
Also, check out the Podcast tonight for the pre-game build-up. You know it makes sense.
Keep the Faith.
