Forward "agrees verbal terms"

Late Friday night, Phoenix officials told the website that a verbal agreement has been reached with a forward to complete the roster for the coming season.
 
GM Andy Costigan advised, "Tony has been considering a number of options this past week and made the offer verbally via the players agent. We have now followed that up with a written contract offer and having spoken with the player myself, neither Tony nor I expect any hitches, and hopefully the contract will be back with us early next week. The question remaining then is whether we can get all the paperwork processed in time to get him here in time for the pre-season games against Sheffield."
 
With this news, we can expect the announcements of both the new forward and the defenceman to be made this coming week.
