Another week gone by and the team are still not getting just reward for their efforts. I feel that the Hockey Gods are deserting us at the moment in terms of points. Our games in Bracknell and at home against Peterborough brought us a zero reward with two defeats. Our series against Bracknell is proving tough and competitive and we now sit at 2-2 with a home game each to play.
Against Peterborough we lost 6-1 but it certainly was not a 5-goal game. We hit them with everything but the Blackpool Tower in the first period only to lose two opportunist goals and the story remained the same for the rest of the game and an entertaining Phantoms side took the points.
In the meantime, Tony has moved quickly to replace Jakub Langhammer with Czech forward Vaclav Meidle. Welcome to Phoenix Vaclav, may you hit the points trail quickly.
I am afraid there’s nothing new to add on our Manchester rink but I am constantly in contact with the council awaiting their decision.
I usually pay thanks to somebody or a group of people every week and this week it’s you, the fans. The Phoenix Faithful. Week in week out for a season and a half you guys have gone the extra mile, in fact the extra 45 and 50 miles each way to support the lads. The atmosphere every match day at Blackpool is for me second to none in the league. You also turn up in numbers at away games and it is really nice to hear compliments from other supporters’ groups about your passion for Phoenix on the road. Believe me, I would have given up long ago if it were not for you people. You continue to humble me every weekend. For that I thank you and really cannot wait to see you rewarded with the Manchester rink.
Keep the faith, for a little while longer.
