Manchester Phoenix will host the Telford Tigers in Deeside for the first time in the league this season on Sunday evening, following a trip to the Hull Pirates on Saturday night.
Phoenix will be looking to claim maximum points this weekend, after a late comeback from Milton Keynes prevented a deserved home win last Sunday. Robin Kovar continues to lead the Phoenix in points with 29 in just 16 games, having registered a goal and an assist against MK, and with GB defenceman Mark Thomas back in the line-up following injury, Phoenix have the luxury of icing a full strength team this weekend.
The Tigers have experienced a resurgence in form, winning their last four games including a resounding 13-3 home win over the Sheffield Steeldogs last Sunday after a slow start to the season. Telford currently sit sixth in the league, just a point ahead of the Phoenix and with a game in hand.
Telford made few changes to their roster for this season as they look to defend their league and cup titles. Defenceman Joe Graham was signed from the Phoenix and GB international forward Phil Hill arrived from the Sheffield Steelers, as the club sought to retain the key players which were integral to the club’s success last season.
Games against Telford always provide plenty of excitement, and face-off in Deeside will be at 6:30pm, with tickets still available online.
