So how do you get 300 Manchester Phoenix fans’ well wishes into the Children’s Hospital at Christmas time where the wards have a very strict infection control system? You ask for help from the Manchester Phoenix Players to volunteer to deliver all the donated presents to the poorly children on their behalf.
It is actually really hard to find the words to describe just why we do this year after year: Amazing! Surreal! Fantastic! Worthwhile! Just so good! For those of you who are in a position to ‘give’ at Christmas time you are so fortunate because you generate smile after smile, so we’d like to share a couple with you on the right.
How families of poorly children find the strength to get through this difficult time of year is truly outstanding and an inspiration. The doctors, nurses and all the support staff over at Manchester Children’s Hospitals do a fantastic job, and they really are superstars.
So for all of you this Christmas whose presents have lit up a poorly child’s face in Manchester: A massive Thank You.
To quote Winnie-the-Pooh (A.A. Milne) “Sometimes, the smallest things take up the most room in your heart”
Merry Christmas from The Phoenix Organisation.
