With Sport Relief just around the Corner, the Manchester Phoenix had a visit from BBC Radio Manchester’s Ian Cheeseman to promote the Sport Relief Mile and the work that Sport Relief does in the UK and elsewhere.
In the run up to the Sport Relief Mile being held in Manchester, 25th March, he had been set some “Cheeseys Challenges” along side this, the cross bar challenge at Manchester City, is just one example. But on 4th March he faced his toughest test, trying to score past Jorge El Hage!!!
With the mental preparation done, and steadying himself on the ice, he took 5 shots on Jorge, with the 1st four being stopped, including one off the post! With one shot left, stick loaded, he let off a wrist shot and slid one through the 5 hole, Jorge completely beaten…maybe due to the skill of the shot, or the fact he covered his face with his glove, it will be argued both ways... he scored much to the delight of the crowd.
So why not get in touch with Ian to find out more about the Sport Relief Mile, by emailing ian.cheeseman@bbc.co.uk, regardless of your fitness. He did mention he may not be running the whole mile... maybe a casual jog!
