The Great Britain Ice Hockey Supporters Club would like to invite you to join them at Coventry Ice SKYDOME on Saturday 16th August 2008 to raise funds to help our national teams qualify for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic ice hockey tournament.
Immediately following the 2008 IIHF World Championships, the top nine ice hockey countries in the world, according to the IIHF's 2008 World Ranking, will be granted automatic entry into the Winter Olympic tourney. For countries ranked No. 19 through 30, there will be a pre-Olympic qualification tournament in November of 2008, and it is this tournament GBSC would like to help raise funds for training, equipment, ice time and travel to give our teams the best opportunity at getting British Ice Hockey in to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic ice hockey tournament.
GBSC will also be celebrating 15 years of supporting, travelling and generally making noise around the GB National ice hockey teams. A GB all-star game has been organised on the day to showcase some of the best talent, past and present from the GB national teams programme. The day will also involve many activities from Broomball to ‘chuck the puck’ to help raise funds and make the event a special occasion for any British Ice Hockey fan.
For further information or to support the event please contact Melanie Johnson on gbsc15@gbsc.co.uk or visit the GBSC website.
