Playoff opposition confirmed... Bring on the Steelers!

Results in the bmibaby Elite League on Saturday night have confirmed that the Manchester Phoenix will face the Sheffield Steelers in the post-season playoffs.

The tie, to be played over two legs, will see Phoenix travel to Sheffield on Friday March 28th with the return home game on Sunday March 30th will the aggregate winner going forward to the Playoff Finals weekend in Nottingham.

A Phoenix spokesperson commented, “It’s the draw we wanted and it’s the draw we’ve got. All the games between us this season have been good ones with only one victory each by more than one goal. We’ve won there and they’ve won in our building, so both games should be full of good hockey, and lots of tension and passion between the respective groups of supporters.”

Tickets for the home game on the 30th will go on sale this Sunday at the final home game against Edinburgh and GM Andy Costigan advised, “we’ve been receiving enquiries all week at the office as to when they’ll go on sale, so we took the decision to make tickets available immediately to help the supporters get them in plenty of time.”
