Hi Everyone,
I hope you're all set to have a great christmas, just like the kids in the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital are going to thanks to your donations this year. I’m sure you all remember our toy appeal that we had going on up until the 16th of this month, where you could donate a toy to the club and then the players would get to deliver the presents to the hospital? Well, I was lucky enough to go along with Neil and the boys on Friday, and see the children's faces light up when the boys handed over the presents; It really was a heart warming experience. We split the boys into groups of four and then Neil and I went with with one group each. Neil took Robert Schnabel. Jacob Heron, Andy McKinney and Richie Bentham. On my little team was Robin Kovar, James Neil, Frankie Bakrlik and Jack Watkins. The Boys really were amazing, talking to all the kids and telling then about the sport we all adore, taking pictures and signing things for the children we met during the day.
Some times thought, you really don’t think about how brave these children really are! I was fortunate to meet a little girl called Hyah, who had just had a kidney transplant the day before, and yet was sat up in the bed laughing, chatting and doing her hair with the little clips and brush she received in her present, it was really something special.
Now I’m not a big fan of visiting hospitals, but there, its nothing like a hospital that I’ve been to before. There, they don’t have that smell that all hospitals seem to have, the place is all decorated out for Christmas and they have the biggest tree I’ve ever seen in my life! It’s sad to think that some of the children in the hospital are not well enough to be at home for Christmas but I’m sure they will have a wonderful day anyway as the hospital make an amazing effort every year to keep everyone smiling and enjoying their day!
That's all from me really, thanks for reading and thanks again to everyone.
Hannah Boone.
