This year's hotly contested Phoenix Idol took place last night and no-one envied the job of the judges, Carl Graham, Cath Harper, Aden Millen & Jim Piper, not just because they had to sit by the speakers!

After a long drawn out battle and plenty of discarded earplugs,the worthy winners were Kevin Edge and Rob Holtom whose rendition of The Sex Pistols' Pretty Vacant was received with rapturous applause.

Second were The Barmy Slappers with She Wears Red Feathers and third was a very plucky performance from our youngest contestant, 7yr old Naimh Hindle with her version of Nickleback's Rockstar.
